About the event
This 8-week course involves mindfulness teachings, class-based discussion, practice and enquiry. You will be invited to do home-based meditations and mindfulness practices between the weekly classes.
MBSR is the internationally recognised, gold-standard mindfulness course. Thousands of MBSR participants around the world report handling negative emotions better after doing this course, especially when facing stress, disability and illness. Improvements in the body’s immune function and in the ability to deal with emotional and physical pain are common outcomes, as are better interpersonal relationships and a greater sense of self-worth and vitality.
The MBSR course curriculum involves a time and practice commitment that is designed to embed mindfulness into your daily life. It will help you reduce your stress, calm and clarify your mind, cultivate and sustain your capacity to pay attention and to live life more skilfully. These skills will guide and support you long after the course is completed.
